Subs, as the piece correctly notes - many times - it's the Caucasus (not the Caucus), so that standfirst contains a bit of a blooper.

Fair dinkum K Johnson. I am just a bit jealous, it seems you and Marty are wandering around in a place well suited for bikers with an interest in being where the average tourist joust dose not go. Drinking ice glacier water from the Chatlis Glacier and again no photo? End of Red Ink Run chapter two?. While I do not have my boring photos of where a determined rider may take a fourteen road bike on any site. Do you and Marty have a place for gawkers mate ? If yes what is that link? I understand you may have an idea about publishing something for-filling later. But gee guys your in georgia which I understand to be once part of USSR russia. Where are the peoples buildings and other stuff you are seeing and riding through? We can only dream about what you are doing! You have the wordsmith skills to describe what we want to see, where are those instructive photos you guys have? I ride a big bike but my toes and fingers are failing me, you are where I would love to be right now! On the open road and in the breese ! Edward James

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm an Australian/Vietnamese national lived in vietnam 2011 and even I was treated differently. At times I was a bit of a novelty because I stood out like a sore thumb with my broken Vietnamese.

Hi all,
I am from Albania, from Shkodra up in the north, the first city you would have seen on your way from Montenegro.
Your story above is about 15% true if i was being generous.
First of all, there is no bus service from Montenegro to Albania, the only way to cross the border is by cab or people that work in Montenegro and carry passengers on there way there and back. and having met many Australians where i live in London i know that you are some of the best travellers around (above case excluded) and beeing that you usually do a bit of research before going somewhere. With regards to beggars a little common sence goes a long way, and if you saw a policeman that helped you a simple Thank you and where can i change some money would have helped you gage the situation a lot better and you would have found out the friendly officer a loot sooner.
I think that if you travel and want to see new and interesting places that are different from the main western cultures you should do it with caution but always with an open mind because most people are just curious of tourists and would in most cases go out of their way to help them.

Thank you K Johnson. I envy you guys, as I have not been off the east coast of Australia yet. There is something special about motorcycle touring. Feeling the changes in temperature and collecting the smells and photographs. Being able to just ride off the road into great virgin camping spots. Cheers Edward James
