As you noted, the Greens are 1000-1 to agree with the Libs. I see that the Greens have two choices. One, be offered a ministerial in the ALP Government, which would be he most interesting when it comes to cabinet, or, two, agree to passage of supply, as the NZ Greens do and remain true cross-benchers. I think that this choice would be a major setback in becoming a mainstream party for the Greens in ACT, where they are the third political force. But Stanhope probably doesn’t want that either, as cavalier as he seems sometimes, so I expect that he’ll offer Rattenbury a ministry with a certain amount of autonomy and have a slightly icy cabinet relationship.

    Good luck to them both.

One factor delaying any settlement is that the Greens still have a decent chance of picking up a fourth seat at the expense of the Liberals in Molongolo. This is likely to go down to the wire however, and thus could take until the end of next week.

Which should make little to no difference. Just include both Molonglo candidates with a chance in discussions regarding the future government of the ACT.
