The Assassination of Yogi Bear by the Coward Boo-Boo

In August I blogged about the bizarre marketing materials for the upcoming Yogi Bear 3D movie, which arrived lathered with homosexual innuendo.
Now the second gust of weird Yogi related controversy has arrived in the form of a glorious unofficial alternate ending inspired by Andrew Dominik’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
If the actual movie ended with this scene, it’d score an instant green light from me, irrespective of whatever crazy crap came before. Best to watch it soon (below) before Warner Brothers decides they can’t bear it and puts their copyright lawyers on the job.

Why does this exist? its utterly excellent of course, but did someone get hold of the cg models and run rampant? make it from scratch? mashup existing footage? just add a couple of elements to existing footage? I’m fascinated.
Yeah, me too. It looks so damn good. Completely professional. Hopefully it’s part of some bizarre marketing campaign and they’ll keep it online, right?
wow. more than a little perplexed but certainly intrigued. If this is actually a genuine component of their marketing strategy then it has certainly made an impact, perhaps aimed at the now older generation who grew up watching the original cartoon.
