Too slow, too studied. Great closeups and scene direction, 'Lincoln'actor's platform shoes barely showed up in composition, but generally well done. The story didn't seem to go anywhere till near the end. A USA audience could be expected to respond with emotion and enthusiasm perhaps, but any side references and nuances were lost on a non US audience.
