I was going to let Frank Devine’s column today go through to the keeper. But I see the boss, Jonathan Green, has taken time out from his hols to write this confessional, and I can’t resist linking to it. Nuff said.

golly, i laughed my head off, it was so funny. gosh, I enjoyed it so much for its wit and intelligence. heavens above it was relevant. please, oh please, would somebody tell the silly old coot to go back to sleep. Devine’s contributions are not as enjoyable as Shamahan’s, for example, but they are another reason why the Oz is a laughing stock.
So Frank’s secret yearning is to be at the cutting edge of political and social commentary! Transporting himself into Crikey’s boardroom as a key player in its coup on the ridiculing of Keith Windschuttle must have been a real buzz. Rubbing shoulders with journalism’s elite and avant-garde writers is in his dreams by the sound of it. Well good luck Frank – pop a few of your articles over to Eric and Jonathan – you never know your luck.
So Jonathan Green is your “boss” which of course implies that you do work ‘for’ rather than “contribute” occasionally to Crikey. One then wonders why deny it?
Perhaps no self-respecting journalist would readily admit to having the aforementioned as one’s “boss”?
Makes sense….
JamesK. I am a freelance journalist on retainer to Crikey. i have never denied this. Not sure what your point is.
