A cough, captured on film: Germophobes might find this a little too nightmarish but for the rest, this pic is fascinating. Using a “small, bright light source, precisely placed lenses, a curved mirror, a razor blade that blocks part of the light beam and other tools” a professor of engineering at the Pennsylvania State Uni caught a cough. And it’s unexpectedly beautiful. — IHT

Experience internet life in China: Firefox has created a spiffy add-on that lets you pretend you’re accessing the net from the land of curtailed expresson. A little schadenfreude at Facebook’s expense: Owen Thomas explains why he thinks that even if the social networking giant isn’t firing, it certainly won’t be hiring any new employees. Part of the problem is that “none of Facebook’s new ad formats have proven to be a breakout hit”.– Valleywag
