Crikey’s pick of the web for today:
Investigative cartooning. French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni have been featured in an ‘investigative comic’ about the couple. The comic (”They’re graphic novels!” Yes yes, geeks, I know) depicts Bruni as smart and manipulative, with Sarkozy under her control.
Giant squids. Everything you ever wanted to know about squids: your squid name, how to insult a squid, squid games, how to tell if you are part squid, and more. Cute.
The pop doppelgänger. Slate looks at celebrity alter-egos, in light of Beyonce’s new album, I am… Sasha Fierce. She’s no Ziggy Stardust.
Inside a frozen pizza factory. Ever since watching Playschool’s oft-repeated 1970’s footage of the Ansell rubber glove factory through the arched window as a youngster, I’ve enjoyed watching things being made on mass-production lines. The Guardian goes inside a factory making frozen pizzas and it’s super. The cheese is especially Willy Wonka.
Have you tried turning it off and on again? What to do when the dreaded blue screen of death strikes (apart from buying a Mac, of course), for those who don’t have the “luxury” of IT support.
