Crikey’s pick-of-the-web for Thursday:
Unsexy in the city. Vanity Fair goes on a Sex in the City tour of New York, which I’m guessing is kind of like the Melbourne Neighbours tours, with more Cosmos and less Dr Karl. Anyway, it sounds hideous, and just about the trashiest way to experience one of the most culturally-rich cities on Earth.
Out of Africa. The Globe and Mail’s Africa correspondent Stephanie Nolen says goodbye to the continent after five years on the dusty beat.
Beer o’clock. Time celebrates Australian pollies’ drunkeness. My heart swells with patriotic pride.
Midlife crisis: the magazine. Japanese magazine OilyBoy is for older gents who still want to be cool. Yuck. I hate those guys. Get some chinos and an ulcer like everyone else your age and stay out of my youth, please.
Holiday holocaust movies: a flowchart. Which of this season’s Nazi films is right for you? New York magazine has a flowchart.
Obama, the college years. Wasn’t Obama a handsome and trendy young man? Nothing like our Kevin.
