Stuff we like: Abandoned planes and melon sculptures

Like Julie Andrews, we enjoy sharing our favourite things. As well as warm woolen mittens and brown paper packages tied up with string, here are a few others:

Melon sculptures. Crazy. I don’t know why these people sculpt melons, but I’m glad they do.

It used to be about the music. What songs can’t you listen to anymore? asks the AV Club. Tales of teenage heartbreak abound.

Abandoned beauty. Artificial Owl collects captivating pictures of abandoned man-made creations, including planes, cars and ships.

Common sense: not so common. Five ways “common sense” lies to you every day. Probability and the Historian’s Fallacy are just some of the ways your brain screws you over from being as rational and wise as you generally believe yourself to be.

Hate the new Facebook? Suck it, says Robert Scoble: they’re right, you’re wrong and you WILL keep using it:

Zuckerberg is not listening to you because you don’t get how Facebook is going to make billions.

Zuckerberg is right. He shouldn’t start listening to his users now.
