Firstdogonthemoon presents the Animal of the Day

Open Thread – 15 March ‘09

We love having you comment here at First Blog On The Moon but it’s a little bit difficult for discussion to continue uninterrupted on specific posts when off-topic comments land in the middle of them. So each day we’ll launch an open thread where you can leave comments that don’t quite fit on one of the other posts. Remember that tip-offs can be made here. And don’t forget June 3!

Have at it!

This is a complete lie and I just pinched it off Pure Poison because they seem to be getting all the traffic and I have run out of Koala photos.

No! FD never despair. I have a fabulous koala/nature-based story to tell. We were in Port Macquarie for two weeks and koalas were climbing up and down trees, swaying in the breeze and falling asleep before lumbering across the resort car park in the morning to go back to the animal hospital! And then a family of ducks who live in this complex took over the hot spa – true! We had to leave the pool so Mum, Dad and six ducklings with another male duck could plunge into the chlorinated/salt expanse to do a few laps. It was awesome stuff. We even cleaned up these little black pellets they all left on the side of the pool and around the BBQ. This week we’re swapping photos of the fortnight on our PC’s so the antibiotics for our swollen glands can kick in. I’ll let you know where we stayed so you can visit there too!

How come that Koala that starred in the bushfires (albeit the earlier ones) didn’t make it to the gigs on Saturday at the Gs. Woulda been better than the tired old has beens and derivative yooof bands on display I was embarrassed for the Hoodoos and Pete was looking a bit creaky on it all. Kylie was great (she a star and a genuine glam) Best other gigs Cold Play, Paul Kelly and Architecture in Helsinki. But why weren’t The Herd playing? they at least look like they have a pulse and don’t have to be bussed in from some old rockers home. Those that know me may detect a conflict of interest in that last remark but I think those that know The Herd would know I’m right.
PS I think you have verballed your dog re the hole digging.

Haha. What is it with cartoonists and pinching people’s bits, FD?

If you’re going to use PP’s open thread blurb, you could at least furnish us with a picture of Bolta’s collection of Jeremy/Scott/Ant/Tobias voodoo dolls, or perhaps nude photos of Robyn Riley leaked by a former editor. Fair’s fair.
