I love this letter sent to Crikey yesterday (subscriber):
The letter is signed by one Brad Stactun, an anagram of ‘Bastard Cunt’.
(And for those who came in late on the whole Victorian swearing shamozzle see here)
Can anyone decipher the Latin in the crest? It maybe nonsense but we welcome all your most creative translations.

I’m guessing “Matris Fatuor” stands for “motherfucker”… Pallas Meas Lamba I’m not sure, but it could be “lick my…” something.
Wikipedia says that Lamba is a type of pinisi (an Indonesian boat). Matris futuor is Latin as suggested above, yielding, in toto, mutatis mutandis, “Lick my dick, muthafucka”
I suggest “suck”, rather than “lick” may have been the intended interpretation. Thus “Suck my dick, Muthafucka”. (Nils excretum taurus)
At the risk of sounding like the centurions in The Life of Brian (or, indeed, being a DIC)…
Lambere (to lick) is third conjugation, so the imperative Lick! should be lambe. Pallas appear to be balls in Catalan. Unfortunately, in Latin they are dresses. Balls would be colei (accusative plural in this instance, coleos). Fatuor almost means sillier: fututor is fucker.
So lick my balls, mother fucker would translate as lambe coleos meos matris fututor. If suck my cock is preferred (as it were): suge mentulam meam matris fututor.
nicely-done. I’m assuming a hoax from within Crikey rather than external..
It would have been all the more effective if the Latin had been accurate. An on-the-spot fine for grammatic errors, perhaps?
I think $240 per hanging participle would be a nice earner for government.
Hanging participle? I can’t find it. Can you point it out?
With my 60s Intermediate Cert. Latin (failed) it looks like an example of what used to be called ‘low Latin’ or Italianate. Both insults in the Crest are common in modern Italy (and most of the Mediterranean basin) and probably the original source of what then went into amerikan as the common-or-garden ‘coksukmuvvafuksunavbitch’.
