Congratulations Tim.

Getting a book published can be a challenge, especially as the small independent publishers are drying up these days. Have you thought of just publishing a few copies yourself? In my line of work I deal with a number of printers on a regular basis, and they tell me it’s very common for some follk to just publish their own books. Thanks to the marvels of digital printing, you can print a very small print run without racking up thousands of dollars. Instead it might cost $20 a unit (for example) all depending on how many pages, colours and the type of binding.

You could always use them as samples to send to potential publishers too. Anyway, just a thought…

Thanks, Jack. Fingers crossed. G’day Pedro: yeah, I can’t think of too many people who use music in the way that I have in this. Remember, it’s written for a young audience, but I reckon a few fogeys like you and me might understand parts of it on a whole other level! The picture is the so-called golden record — you’re right — that was aboard Voyager: it was filled with music and greetings and other info about the human race. Meant to be our intro to any sentients who happened to find it

Aside from Nick Hornby, I’m trying to think of another author who writes about music. Not getiing far. Did you have any particular models or influences for your opus?
