GenP – I think that, being as how Palin’s (apparently) female, that should be “ad hominam”. Without wishing to demolish the quote’s antiquity to “..feminam”, it is still necessary to conjugate the generic.
The resentful undead tories, still in denial over Hilda Robert’s dethronement, are a perfect example of the damage done by the TINA quote, “there’s no such thing as society”. When such morally myopic venality (inevitably) falls apart they are like spoiled children, refusing to acknowledge reality.

Are you by any chance a Pom? Because as far as I can recall, the only people who made any widespread use of the term ‘Trot’ as a term of abuse were the wide-boy cockney barrow-boys and spivs who thought Marg. Thatcher was the greatest politician who ever lived.
