Good Morning Mr Pilger

When Aretha Franklin sings “Think”, her wonderful 1960s anthem to freedom, at Obama’s inauguration on 21 January, I trust someone with the brave heart of Muntadar al-Zaidi, the shoe-thrower, will shout: “Gaza!”

Bless you John Pilger. Relegated to Green Left online, but you still got it. Just the thing to engorge the righteous dander early in the morn. Read it here.

Thanks for that Jonathan. It’s a great piece that deserves a wider audience.

Is the Arab Street “ready to explode” about the inauguration? Oh hang on that’s Robert Fisk.

I like “Muntadar al-Zaidi, the shoe-thrower”. How Pilger must have agonised over whether to insult his loyal readers by specifying who he was, or cater to the gulled and ignorant masses by giving them a little hand.

Still, we needed a replacement for Islamic Rage Boy, who has disappeared from sight. The shoeman is it.
