I would have to agree with the writer here. I saw Arj Barker last night (Friday 5th). I’ve seen him a couple of times in the past but was very disappointed. The show dragged on and on, a few laughs but nothing like you would expect. I looked around the audience a number of times and noticed that people just sat there, with not even a smile on their face. I thought it was that bad, that all I could stand was 45 minutes and walked out before it even ended. Must say not worth the $80 or so dollar at all.

Oh, Neil, I disagree. If the night was as it’s described, then he is being very gentle. I appreciated the lack of a harsh tone. It sounds as though Jennifer had a terrible night; there’s nothing worse than those gigs where everyone wants to look the other way. My only suggestion would have been to simply not review it; that can sometimes be kindest.

I can’t possibly agree with this review. Andrew McClelland, whilst I give him some credit for trying, is not a funny comedian. It isn’t that he lacks material, he just doesn’t get past the “smile stretching” that results from an uncomfortable silence when a punch line hasn’t registered a hit.

I don’t understand their brand of comedy and I don’t understand why my tax dollars are paying for for it. After having witnessed the skit on the “Make a wish” foundation where they offered a dying child a stick, I thought the funniest thing that could’ve happened to these guys would have been a sniper bullet to the head by a secret service agent at APEC.

Now that would have been hilarious.

Perhaps the weakest offering from The Chaser yet and last year’s Yes, We Canberra was pretty bad.

Really the only show they did of note was CNNNN in 2002/03.
