Well, publishing is a tiny, teeming world isn’t it? The B+P interview/review was excellent – I was grateful. As for an audience, I have no idea (lots of hopes, longings, but very little clue).

Apart from the music (which occasionally undermined the performers), the only genuinely cringeworthy moment was the great, magical sword throw. I remember sitting in the Astor thinking: “This isn’t an ’80s ninja film!”

But as I said: a fine adaptation, despite the ongoing hum of Branagh’s ego.
