What a brilliant weekend it was! I feel totally inspired to lock myself away and write for weeks…

Oh to be as witty and funny as Cate Kennedy, or as dulcet and brooding as Josephine Rowe, her imagery was so brilliant I had a dream about prostitutes holding strawberry milkshakes on Sunday night..

Oh, and she was so lovely. I told her how I loved her story ‘Her Voice Was Full of Money – and They Were Careless People’ (though I didn’t remember the full title, I said ‘the one in Best Australian Stories 2007 with the Gatsby reference’). She read quite a chilling story, from her collected works. It was great to meet her.
