You can be sure that when disputes over this “deal” are broadcast over the media, the average white punter’s perceptions after seeing Aboriginal people protesting against (what to them is a generous billion dollar gift from the government), this will only reinforce negative and resentful white attitudes, such as ‘why are they being given all this money by the government and still not satisfied? They are greedy.’

The ensuing crisis will ensure … a form of politics in which the government might reign but it no longer governs. For a new world we need a new politics. For bringing this to the attention of many we should be grateful to former PM Rudd.
