If the 787 problems continue, and raises questions over the maturity of composite airliner technology, Airbus can say that it is taking its time to do the job properly, and in the meantime transfer resources to rolling-out upgrades to the A330 as an interim.

AFAIK Boeing has put all its eggs in the 787 basket.</description>
