Reflections on the Miracle of Democracy at Work in the Greatest Nation on Earth

Newspoll: 52-48

Sky News reports tomorrow’s Newspoll at 52-48. The Australian reports a sample size of 2614, but no primary votes. Normally you wouldn’t doubt the result with four polls telling you 52-48, 52-48, 54.5-45.5 and 57-43, but surely there’s some significance to the fact that the two closest polls of the year have come in the day before polling day.

I’ll go with 83 seats to Labor. But, despite all the angst, money, tears and energy channelled solely into the outcome tomorrow, it’s not just about the final seat count.

ESJ and you think the Libs would be piling money into new infrastructure? No chance. In the entire time of the WA Court government not one extra metre of rail was laid.

I rang up the video store yesterday and got them to keep a copy of Dons Party. I foolishly thought it might be out (what a inner city idiot dolt). Anyway I am going to watch it tomorrow early afternoon. Have a sleep after that and then put in until the end effort even if it is called early. I have never watched the movie but as in many things these days feel I know all about it . I even know that renting it may be a bad omen.

Trioli was acting like a Liberal hack at the National Press Club! Laughing at Kroger’s jokes and flirting while taking Carr to task? Not sure who I hate more out of those two

The bright side was that Bob Carr looked out of the corner of his narrowed eyes at Kroger and sicked him.

What irritates most about Kroger is that he gets all these gigs pontificating and gets to sneers at guys (in the non-gendered sense of the word) who’ve done the hard yards in politics and he has done…..jack s**t.

Every Friday night under Trioli will be worst LL ever from now on. Unless Labor wins and she gets the sack.

Coalition by 2 has been my tip since day one.

Do you think this suspect Newspoll will make some people sittiing on the fence come over to the Labor camp? In hindsight, probably a good thing for Rudd, and it backs up what he’s been saying for weeks about this being a close election.
Anyone else in N.S.W watch Stateline? Mark Arbib was being very negative about the ALP’s chances of picking up Coalition seats in this state, or it was a very convincing acting performance.

John Howard *WILL* greet Sunday morning as Prime Minister (sadly).
