Democratic primaries will be held Wednesday our time in Oregon and Kentucky, which will respectively choose 52 and 51 delegates. Below is another race associated with the latter state, which this year ended with runner-up Eight Belles having to be put down*. Does the knackers’ yard beckon for a certain second-placed Democratic nag? Discuss.
* Unfortunately for my metaphor, Clinton in fact holds a handy 30.5 per cent lead in Kentucky, according to Real Clear Politics. Obama however leads by 12.4 per cent in Oregon.

GG, even if that were to happen, the popular vote is not the decider. It’s delegates.
So, I seriously doubt that Team Obama are concerned. Their whole strategy from the beginning was to secure a majority of delegates. That is the way the game is currently set up, and the way it currently needs to be played. And Team Obama have been very successful in this…
Jen,
You’ve just been cogitating your dissonance.
But, if it makes you happy.
Noocat,
2210, where is it? Not there yet! So when it is, whomever has it can claim victory.
GG at 1803
Sounds like your in the state of Denial.
Whatever, maybe you can pickup some votes for Hillary while your there.
Hey potty, ‘rather than make base assumptions about those with whom you differ’; still knackered; the once mighty horse …’a few balls short’…

Lol.

So, GG, do you think Hillary might still win the nomination?
Catrina,
For one who loves facts, figures and process you are remarkably inconsistent.
Denile is a river in Africa.

You can’t get my kids away from a good quidditch game!

I’m sorry – that should have been Denial.
While your there, see if you can pick up a pledged delegate or two. After all, that’s what this race is all about. But you know that already don’t you.
Noocat at 1773, a terrific summary of why Hillary failed
Woof!
Hillary with a landslide.
Andrew, I guess we’ll see if the Clinton’s can do any better in eight years when it is Chelsea 2016!
Noocat at 1806, you know Hillary supporters wont answer that. I asked it 1,000 posts ago and Max told us why

It appears that Hillary needs 80% of remaining delegates to win. Does any Hillary supporter truly believe this is going to happen, and if so, how, particularly given the SDs are overhelmingly breaking Obama’s way. If not, why are we still discussing this as if it’s an ongoing contest?
Noocat,
With the support of the SDs there is still an opportunity there for her to win.
However, more importantly, I believe the process to allow 35-40 million Democratic supporters to vote for their nominee is exciting. I just want to see the process play out (another thing I have been consistent about).
Thanks for answering GG. PLease set out the figures for the remaining SDs that will give it to Hillary
Welder’s Dog!
Are you by any chance a English Setter Japanese chin cross?
WD @ 1799,

Not quite Noocat, Gruffy and Eddy have not run rings around me, they’ve displayed to all and sundry that they ARE rings!
It’s been fun getting to expose their facial rubbish, but I’m leaving it to other now, since they bore me beyond belief. In fact I just skim down the page and do not even bother to pay attention to their silly posts. They ain’t about anything except picking fights, and NEVER have been.
Ron, on the other hand, is just a deluded puppy with a very funny way of expressing things.
Soon, Noocat, soon, we can get on to Obama V McCain, and no doubt the usual suspects will be backing McCain for all they’re worth.
What else, I ask, do they have left?
Andrew,
We have had this discussion before.
Seek and you will find.
Sorry GG I missed your nuance- I asked if you BELIEVED she would win, not have the OPPORTUNITY to win.
‘there is still an opportunity there for her to win.’
What?
I should be so lucky!
Nope – I’m just a mongrel without an eduction.
Guess that explains my political loyalties.
More importantly, can Obama win in Nov without Hillary’s support and supporters? the answer is a big NO. So lately, the Obama camp has been rather ‘nice’ to Hillary. just wondering why.

Oh Finns, cant bring yourself to answer? At least GG has the guts. I agree that Obama needs Hillarys support/supporters and he will get it/them
GG, nothing is official until the convention, even for McCain. This is why we talk about the presumptive nominee.
Obama is the presumptive nominee because, like McCain, the possibilities of an event occurring that would stop him from being officially declared are exceptionally rare, and that includes superdelegates going against the winner of the pledged delegates.
Oopps, try ‘facile’, but facial would probably work if you put ‘rings’ in their place.
Hey parrot, what am i supposed to answer again?
Noocat at 1827
But you have to give cred where credit is due. GG brings new meaning to the expression ‘pissing in the wind’.
Definitely looking forward to that!
But if they do back McCain, it will only be to undermine their reasons for supporting Hillary in the first place. GG, Finns, and Ron have been cheering for Hillary because they believed she will give the Democrats the best chance of beating the Repugs in Nov.
So, if they really do want the Republicans beaten, then they will naturally support Obama.
Sadly no credit whatsoever will be forthcoming for you Catrina.
Noocat,
No one else has their hand up with the Republicans so fair comment.
Hillary has not conceded so there is still a contest.
Oh Finns, although it’s not really worth the bother any more:

Finns @ 1823 ‘just wondering why’ because Electahillabillity is losing , nay has lost…remember ‘ownership’ ‘theft’ goalpost moving…such a sad mistake by the norty party & voters…

No big deal . my neighbour has one of those English Setter Japanese chin cross type of dogs and he just calls it ESJ for short.
Gaffhook at 1836
ROTFLOL
But think about the Welder’s Dog’s feelings here.
Any association with ESJ is likely to create an adverse reaction.
KR,
You don’t take notice of my posts? Have a look at what you posted this morning. Self delusion is you.
Trouble in the Kirri house this morning as KR’s arrows of arrogance go astray (again).

Catrina at 702, you should know by know that trying to get a straight answer out of Finns (Obama v McCain) only leads to being called a parrot and a stalker. The answer is obviously McCain but the Finns is either too gutless to say so, or in so much denial about a Hillary victory that they cant ponder the question
i know i shouldnt have bothered. It wont happen again

Somewhere back a few pages you used the expression “blind as a welder’s dog”.
I now see posts being headed by Welder’s Dog and they bear a striking resemblance to lots of other short sharp posts under another pseudo.
Just wondered if it was the same poster.
Codger
I think though that an ESJ chin type welders dog would be better crossed with
one of these to stop the Flux and slag getting to you.

Catrina, any more SDs or is it still 57 delegates to go for Obama
Gaffhook at 1841
Are you calling me a dog?
Andrew at 1842
It’s 56 according to the Obama Campaign site.
According to me its 45.
So Gaffhook our Kirri has fallen into shadow and you’ve decided to take up the cudgels?
You need to ramp up the abuse and the cutting and pasting of links if you aspire to the mantle.
Catrina @1830,
I guess without technological enhancement it’s just, “Hissing in the wind” for you.
ESJ at 1845
Has anyone mentioned to you the words short drop and sudden stop?
One identity per thread please, Catrina.
#1840 – if you have developed research and searching skill, you would have discovered that i have answered yr question way way back in the dream time.
GG at 1846
Gosh, I really disappointed – I was expecting something much sharper than that. Come on, take a pill, show me some metal.
