Reflections on the Miracle of Democracy at Work in the Greatest Nation on Earth

“No decisions tonight”

The headline says “CNN projects Obama clinches nomination”, but during what in many ways has sounded like a concession speech, Clinton has declared: “I will be making no decisions tonight”.

And you are spot on – Obama can give McCain the whipping his repug ass needs. My only fear is mass cheating of the electoral system that makes the 2000 result look like a slightly dodgy beauty pageant.

now at that stage , even my friend Ferney would have been smiling

only a computer geek would have the arrogance to take away from Obama all semblance of that Obama himself achieved anything & would have lost without the internet. Both Campaigns (despite her campaigns costly tactical errors) were too clever for search engine optimisors because they involve people not machines

My anus came up in the context of allusions to a gangbanging by blindoptimist.

Optimist its the latest Rasmussen poll for South Carolina which clearly shows the hopemaster is attracting about 20% whitey support in that State.

You can discount the national polls – no doubt the hopemaster will poll well in strongly democratic states and rack up hugely improved losing margins in States like ole miss – still does not add up to 270.

As I said yesterday 44,000 idiots from Idaho and Kansas will have a lot to answer for if the turkey bastes in November.

Jen, your horsey is not doing too well.

When jockey Kent Desormeaux asked his undefeated colt to take the race to streaking longshot leader, Da' Tara, he found no response. Not only did Big Brown - on the cusp of the first Triple Crown in 30 years - not keep up, he began to drop back. Desormeaux, sensing something wrong, stopped riding hard and Denis of Cork, rallying on the outside, shoved Big Brown aside. With Desormeaux barely moving on his back, Big Brown began a slow jog to the finish line at Belmont Park.

    Jen,

    Totaly indifferent.

I am not an Obama man.

However, I am genuinely open minded to his presentation of policy and plan for the future. If I were an eligible voter, I would be waiting for the “what’s in it for me” assessment before deciding.

I also believe that John Mc Cain is a fine man with a credible track record to be running for POTUS. Underestimate him and the Republicans at your peril.

Here’s an interesting article from Brendan Cormack at the Australian. I only post it because there was a lot of uninformed hyperbole around BiG Browns alleged talents prior to the Kentucky derby.

It seems that his advantages were chemically induced and not a result of natural talent.

I wonder what comparisons can be made to the campaign of Obama and certainly his hysterical cheer squad here at PB.

    His oiliness, refined in Chicago.

After Rezko was convicted on 16 of 24 counts, both Gov. Rod Blagojevich and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama expressed sadness at the verdict and gingerly danced away from their former friend and fundraiser. Some in the media criticized the two men for not being tougher on the guy.

There are plenty of reasons why those post-conviction statements weren't more judgmental or harsh. The first that came to my mind was that Rezko is theoretically facing 300 years in prison. A guy caught up in such a predicament might say anything, true or false, to avoid spending the rest of his natural life behind bars. It's probably best not to rile him too much. He may know something about one or both men, or he may just make something up. Either way, discretion is the better part of valor in situations like that.
