Surprising the CEC are not out in force. They usually manage to cover the booths at by-elections where they run. Not that it would change the outcome by more than 20 votes.

Geoff, in Cunningham all but one of the smaller candidates preferenced the Greens ahead of the ALP. Here its 6 to Labor, 3 to Green. Of course its really more like 2 each based on the reports, since people who are not handing out don't count. (If Varga and Boni are each only covering half the booths then they count as half each, and with the CDP give Labor 2 to balance Zagami and Wainwright).

Greens won in Cunningham from a 38:23 split. There was the union backed independent who preferences favoured the Greens but he alone would have only got them to a vote in the low 30s. The Cunningham example would suggest a Green victory.

[If their was a Labor Green coalition (not out of the question) then it would be highly likely she would take Deputy-Leader of the coalition and thus Deputy-Premier.]

Which would mean voting with Labor on virtually everything.

I think that if she is elected then she should be made leader of the Parliamentary Greens so she can give the Greens a profile as a lower house party and increase their vote.
