Christmas comes early today for the Labor Party in the Peoples Republic of Victoria with The Oz carrying a new Newspoll showing an 8 point surge on both the primaries and two party preferred to have Labor coming in at 45/37 for a TPP of 57/43. If that sounds familiar, it might have something to do with the Qld Newspoll the other day showing identical figures for Labor up north.
Have a thought for poor old Nathan Rees in NSW. No not thoughts like that! – I mean thoughts of sympathy. To the north and south he sees fellow ALP premiers in big winning positions, enjoying a swing towards them from the last election on top of the already huge majorities they have in their back pockets – yet there Rees is, chalking up the worst polling results in history.

Rees is Premier of the smelly proscuito in the Stage Government East Coast Sandwich.
Really, it’s not entirely fair for him to cop the odium left by Carr and Iemma’s rotting corpses, but the malady lingers on.
