Proving once again that when a party is getting pounded in the politics – the leakers and the destabilisers are ultimately the ones that get rewarded rather than sanctioned.

Pollytics.com is a ride through the observable reality of politics, polling and media commentary. Driven by data, infected by snark and generally containing far too many charts – it comes to you from sunny climes north of the Rio Tweed and is the work of a single blogger, Scott Steel. The Eyes Have It: self hypnosis and political delusion
The Tragic Case of Madam Mesmer
by Peter Van Onselen
(available soon from Random House)
And I always thought that politics was about the battle of ideas.
LOL – ideas and the Libs are total strangers
David R, you are right, but the saddest thing is Julie is far from the worst performer in the Liberal party. She was made to sell a brush without bristles with the coalition policy. It was quite apparent that she didn’t really believe in it, and also apparent that most of the credible members of the coalition didn’t believe in it, but had been steamrolled by the Abetz Uglies, none of whom will pay any price for their stupidity, except for extended opposition irrelevence.
Live by the sword, die by the sword – she didn’t do any of the policy work, didn’t develop any credibility and surprise surprise, no-one listened to her, either inside or outside the party room.
She was and is totally reliant on ‘popularity’ – it might get you to the prom, but as she’s found out in the last year that’s about the end of it. She’s have been better off marrying the quarterback (probably an AFL footballer in WA terms).
Continuing the sporting flavour: “Can’t write, can’t speak, can’t think…”
And no – she’s not alone.
Anyone taking bets on her not lasting till the election?
So now we’ll get a lot more shouting and feigned outrage and puerile insults, but nothing else will change.
Esepcially not the gaff level VVB. Did you catch the Hockey/Tanner “debate” on Lateline the other day? Appalling – Hockey was confusing the current account deficit for a budget deficit – not a good look.
He’ll have many of the type of brainfart moments that got Bishop into hot water – and there still wont be any effective opposition.
and now Brendo the Nightwatchman is hanging up his pads… who’s next to quit?
Ms Bishop is gone. What a surprise,…not!
Lookout here comes Joe and he’s gonna kick some ass,….not!
philatvvb you are on the money.
