Is this the “new journalism”?

(One more – sorry, he’s fairly prolific.)

Shouldn’t a “political staffer” who wants to demand certain political journalists be replaced based on his or her personal assessment of their public work do it under his or her own name? And should a “journalist” reprint his or her very personal attack anonymously and in full?

Does Mr Bolt take responsibility for the content of that attack on their character and professionalism? Does anyone?

This is just more in the line of the attacks on Red Kerry, the fact that both attacks use unidentified Liberal party sources says a lot about the attacks.

I laughed my head off when I saw that one this morning. It’s yet another example of the sphincter-tighteningly-hypocritical genre he’s made his own: commentators who disagree with him are biased, unfair and overcritical of the Coalition….whereas Bolt and his ilk are models of measured fairness…..therefore the former should be removed and/or prevented from commenting or covering politics because etc etc ad nauseam.
A Year Ten student like my younger daughter could debate this foolish argument into a cocked hat without much effort; that it is presented to us as sensible comment means two things: he’s once again playing to his drooling chorusline, and he doesn’t care for the opinions of his own colleagues ( many of whom, I am led to understand, regard him as something of a clown).

Methinks the verisilimitude, not the anonymity, in that blog piece is what really irks Jeremy

haven’t we seen this before with the Big Swinging Dicks that were stalking poor old julie bishop? while bolt wasn’t the instigator on that occaision, it’s the same problem: anonymous gossip being passed off as fact, or at the very least plausible reality which nobody has to own if it goes pear shape.

And if “time is up for the old guard in the parliamentary the press gallery” because of age and the it’s time factor, then why not name Malcolm Colless whose career is longer than any of those others, but who rarely writes anything interesting or insightful despite his doyen status in the press gallery. it’s all anti-Rudd, anti-labor with every single article he pens these days. his directorship of news ltd however probably puts paid to that idea.

I trust this heading doesn’t imply that you think Andrew Bolt is actually a journalist.

This is not one of your more poisonous pennings. A fart in the bath, really. ;)
