Hello Rob,
You’re wasting your time arguing with Surly about Apple products — after all, this is the man who said this :
“I heard someone suggest that in the US Democrats have iPhones and Republicans have Blackberries. Don’t know if it’s true, or what it says but IMHO it means Democrats are better people.”

Now, it may or may not be true that Dems are better people than Republicans, (thats an argument for another thread), but I suspect that if they are it has little to do with their choice of communication device
Obama had a Blackberry – secret republicanmuslimsocialist!!!!!
Anyway, no-one had an iPhone a few years ago.
Besides, I like arguing about hardware, next best thing to owning all the desirable hardware (reading then arguing about it) I’m always up for the debate and I have no hard feelings to Surly, infact I like his online persona and am usually in agreement with him.
…….Which brings me to something else I enjoy arguing/debating about, that BASTARD Israeli govt, looks like they’ve attacked the humanitarian flotilla. All well and good, well it would be if Israel allowed other aid and building materials into Gaza. It is collective punishment and it is cruel and despicable.
And RobJ don’t expect GAvinM to have even the smallest sense of humour
THanks
I never take it personaly, I like you think debate about hardware is good, through argument we learn.
RobJ maybe you should look at a MacBook Pro 15″?
The comment actualy came from the UK Labor Technology spokesman, and his Conservative counter part then suggested that the opposite was true in Britan, a light hearted exchange. BTW the LibDem spokesman for such matters is Lord Razzle and a better name I have not heard in a while.
And yes Israel may have overstepped the mark some what!
I have checked the Macbook range and although they’re decent value I’m sure I can get an ASUS/HP etc with more for less… I’m a boring bastard who likes to read price lists in the Green Guide..
Hmmm, would have happily played in the open thread thing is I get up too early
RobJ, three letters for you. MSY. Don’t be fooled by the incredibly poor website, they’re the cheapest around for computer parts and notebooks etc. Don’t expect any customer service though!

So people keep insisting, then I compare their lists with Centrecom and CP&L and think, well they’re cheaper for some things but not others. The customer service at CP&L is shite and some of their ‘whizz kids’ know bugger all, they just think they know it all…
DesBenkt – I have spend my time standing in the queue at MSY. Customer Service? They do not know the meaning of it! CPL is another
Oh yeah, but then again I don’t go to these places for customer service. I generally know what I want and can get it straightaway. To be honest, RobJ, I haven’t compared MSY price lists with Centrecom or CPL for a while so maybe it could be worth giving those places a go.
Dunno where you guys live, but I quite like the computer fairs that do the rounds in NSW. It’s interesting to just go along and see what’s around and what things “really” cost.
Matthew, I make purchases at the swap meets, thing is though if you need to take something back and find the traders shop is 70 kms from your own, but stuff that isn’t likely to go wrong, for example blank media, printer ink etc I absolutely purchase from the computer market. They’re held mostly in Town Halls in Melb.
Yes i can imagine RobJ behind a tower of junk running win 95
Huh. Why do you imagine that qauntize? I’d list my specs if I could be bothered because I am a bit of a geek who enjoys building his own machines, and because I do research before I build I don’t get landed with piles of junk.
Anyway – Bolt Opines:
and he goes on to list some pretty disgusting posts from the anti-Israel side of the debate, you can check them yourself, he’s right they’re foul but yesterday the following post was published on his blog:
That’s rather disgusting, I’m wondering if his mods can even read?
