Twas ever so; the lower orders do not create revolution but when the middle classes see their hard earned disappear in smoke & mirrors they get more than a little miffed. And start looking for someone to blame. Or worse, looking for a Leader to do the punishing of the aforementioned. The problem with Leaders is that they are only dangerous when followed and OBEYED by the meretricious mediocrities who feel the wicked world doesn’t recognise their self proclaimed worth.

Fantastic post. As a student of modern history yours is indeed a timely reminder of the potentially dangerous times that are now thrust upon us.

I’ve seen some evidence of exactly the kind of extremist right wing reaction that you are talking about recently over at Agmates. In fact I recently ran this article to remind the Agmates community that I will just not tolerate that kind of thinking or attitudes on the Agmates forums.

From what you have written I think you’ll appreciate the post.
