Nourishing the environmental debate

Like paying someone to be a prick

Under the proposed emissions trading scheme, some of Australia’s most polluting companies stand to receive massive public handouts. It’s a essentially a form of corporate welfare – and the figures are quite staggering as I wrote in my posting earlier this week. These are the same companies that have been lobbying against climate action for years – and still are.

Greenpeace teamed up with the Chaser’s Andrew Hansen to write a song about it. Handing out more subsidies to the biggest polluters is like ‘paying someone to be a prick’.  See what you think.
