Nourishing the environmental debate

Generation E and starving polar bears

The news from Earth today:

This is why we don’t say global ‘warming’. So the weather gets a bit chilly, and all the climate change sceptics say “told you so”. GOOD makes the case for not using the ‘W’ word.

Getting less great? Researchers have found that coral growth at the Great Barrier Reef has been slowing, with calcification declining by 13% between 1990 and 2005.

Polar bears go hungry. More polar bears are going hungry due to climate change, reports NewScientist. “In 1985 and 1986 the proportion of bears fasting was 9.6 and 10.5 per cent respectively. By 2005 and 2006 this had risen to 21.4 and 29.3 per cent.”

Generation E. Many young people today are hyper-environmentally aware and are out to innovate in new, green ways. Dot Earth looks at what they term ‘Generation E‘.
