The papers report today that Collingwood has sacked its entire cheersquad.
People wishing to rejoin the cheersquad for the 2009 season have been asked by the Magpies to reapply for the position.
While this may be seen as a move to clean up Australia’s most notorious fan base (Pies fans will argue that passionate is the correct adjective), has this drastic move been driven by greater economic powers?
Will Joffa be reappointed? If not will he take up a position on the Citigroup board? Will there be a power vacuum in the Collingwood cheersquad? Will Eddie be required to don the gold jacket?
So many questions, so few answers.
