As Sean of Elsternwick knows, being paid to talk and write about sport is not a strong indication that you are proficient at talking or writing.
Earlier, I was watching a match between India and New Zealand from the Women’s Cricket World Cup. A run out decision had been referred to the third umpire, and the commentators were discussing the matter. A female commentator, whose identity is unknown to me, stated her opinion this way:
“I’m going out. I’m going out.”
I think the commentator’s point was that she thought the batsmen had been run out, and not that she herself had plans for the evening, or a pressing need to leave the commentary area (or any of the number of other ways to understand the line).
Anyway, it made me chuckle.

Women’s cricket is not to be laughed at
At least she wasn’t coming out.
