As a precursor to the AFL home and away season, Crikey cartoonist and Doggies enthusiast First Dog on the Moon has drawn the Bulldogs’ emphatic victory over St Kilda in Saturday night’s NAB Cup grand final.
During the season proper, First Dog will be drawing every game the Bulldogs play and they will be available on the Crikey Sports blog on the Monday after each round.

I love Barry too. He’s a legend.
I love The Plan.
I give him 6 weeks before punching someone…
Did Barry pose for you personally? It’s such a good likeness.
Great portrait of Barry.
It doesn’t matter whether you or Barry doesn’t want him to belt anyone. It is written.
Big Bald Beautiful Bulldog Bazza intimidated those Saints. Bring the real stuff on!
Well done doggies. They’ll go alright this year until Bazza gets injured or kills someone.
What is this “AFL” ? This comic rivals The Beyonce Eating Spider for unintelligibility – or is it just a Melbourne thing?.
Dear Dog,
Us Swannies did love Barry once but dear oh dear he made it hard for us We gave him chances he promsed he’d do better but then it happened again. Great to see him kick a bag. But the darkness still lurks within. I hope it doesn’t descend until after that “last Sat in September.” But I fear Ms Mckinlay may be right
But all power to ya dog. A win is a win and the afterglow is great
Horse tranquilizer is used to take the edge off Barry’s temper and keep him performing. Is this true??
It’s only a matter of time, he has to go another 25 weeks without getting into trouble and getting a kick along the way. Scarlett will make him look like an amateur.
Scarlett may make him look like an amateur, but who will take care of Johnson or Murphy now that Scarlett’s hands are full?
The Dogs plan 2010, looks very similar to the Saints plan in the late 80’s: Kick it to Lockett, kick it to Lockett, kick it to Lockett – LLLLLLLLOOOOOCCKKETTT GGGGOOOALLL!
(sorry to get all South American)
