US Presidential prospects left unchanged

This week’s Congressional election results have had no impact on which party the markets think will provide the winning President in 2012. Despite the good showing by the Republicans, the Democratic Party remains with a probability of victory assessed at around 60% on the Crikey Presidential Election Indicator.

The Crikey election indicators are not the same as opinion polls. They show what the market assesses will happen on election day not what a pollster has found would happen if an election was held when the poll was taken.

I suspect the nutcases in the tea party will even drive the repugnicons crazy in the next 2 years and when they can deliver precisely nothing to the morons who voted them in they will be booted out.

I still can’t get over that the US politicians still haven’t resolved the Individual Health Insurance issue there yet. Seems like a big powerful country like that could take care of their people. Pretty strange if you ask me.
