Whatever vulgar stuff Mr Slipper says in private (or he thought was private) cannot be compared in any way shape or form to what people say and do in public.
Sorry if I’m being naive here, but I thought Slipper was doing a fairly good job as Speaker, even if a little ‘flamboyant’.
This is a good starting point for a proper apology, Alan.
