THE Liberal Party has been hugely embarrassed over a campaign team caught delivering fake letters linking Labor with the Bali bombers.
The grubby night-time operation in St Marys, in the seat of Lindsay, was busted by a squad of ALP sleuths who conducted a stake-out.
An absolute disgrace. A cynical manipulation of baseless fears. The Liberal Party in NSW is a bloody mess and it ought to be disbanded and re-built from the ground-up.

As I said to KJ this morning: “there’s the stench of death in the air”.
A week ago the Coalition may have lost by a handful of seats and at least had a realistic chance of keeping Rudd to one term (depending, of course, on the respective sides’ performances). But the last week has been a shocker for the Government. You can’t help but think many undecideds will now go Labor and the margin will be substantial (more than 10 seats).

Whilst it might not be cricket, it’s far from being anything new, on either side. I left NSW at the end of 96, but prior to this fake HTV and community newsletters and endorsements were widespread, at least on the campaigns I worked on. Sure, they didn’t use to include muslims, but there was no shortage on fear-mongering on the issues of the day in the past either.
