Let Jo-anne decide (on abortion)

There is a deep contradiction in Senator McCain’s philosophy when it comes to the relationship between individuals and their government. In today’s third debate, McCain made a big play to Joe the plumber and how he wasn’t going to take Joe’s wealth and spread it around and how he wasn’t going to tell Joe how to provide health benefits for his employees. McCain doesn’t want these decisions taken out of the hands of these individuals. He claims Obama will use the government to push the Joes of the world around. But when it comes to abortion, there is no Jo-anne. McCain is anti-abortion and he’s happy to use government and the courts to take these decisions out of the hands of all those individuals. Same old story. Joe has rights but Jo-anne doesn’t.

Once the baby is born, no one in the world can care for it, understand it, or look after it like its mother. However, prior to birth she is the worst person to make a lucid decision about what is best for all concerned.
None of this make rational sense.
