Great. Two giants.

I couldn't get it to load n play through the Crikey website so I went and found it on YouTube.

A thin Satchmo, so must have been in last couple of years of his life. Regardless, his trumpet style then was just so smoothe and easy.

He didn't yodel on the original recording where his horn playing is very restrained for a guy who wasat the time, the hottest horn player in the world.

Hear original with Jimmy Rodgers here:

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=nxqUgFFSFRQ

The tune owes much to W. C. Handy's Beale Street blues methinks.

Check out the 10-gallon hat sitting beside Satch. Must have been what he was wearing when he walked on stage.
