Journalism fail: TV News in Melbourne goes into Kim Duthie overdrive

Crikey Sports brings you the definitive video file on why everything is wrong with television news and current affairs in this country.

Every commercial News outlet in Melbourne on Thursday 9 June led their respective bulletins with the news that Kim Duthie — the unfortunately infamous girl at the centre of the “St Kilda school girl” AFL sex scandal — got into a fight on a street. The future of journalism in this country is in fine hands.

Hilarious. Her being ’embroiled in a street fight’ would suggest she got sucked into it, and there was an actual fight. She started it and there was one shove!

Somehow finding two bodies in suspicious circumstances is less important than seeing a girl-on-girl slapfest.

“Journalism fail: Enough Kim Duthie already”. Isn’t it a bit ironic for Crikey to perpetuate the use of American English?

The Australian media can’t see when it’s being trolled. She should keep it up.

It’s not gonna stop till she gets to host her own TV show.

I really think that this blog post by (the other) Mike Stutchbury says it all…

Future of journalism? What future would that be? Tell that to the poor bastards at The Age who are soup-kitchen bound … and no, that’s not a reference to Pagemasters.
